Miniature circuit-breaker

Miniature circuit-breaker works as a circuit-breaker by providing overload and short circuit protection. Another advantage of miniature circuit-breaker is that it also serves the purpose of fuse units during normal conditions. It is much faster than fuses, more reliable and easy to handle. These are electromechanical devices and make the circuit disconnected once the circuit current reaches the predetermined value. Accuracy and efficiency are matchless during overloading and short circuit conditions. Here an arc generated due to the interruption of current is broken down into small pockets of arcs in the arc-chute stack in order to trim down its impact. For low and steady currents like geysers, bulbs, oven, heaters, electric iron etc., L-series miniature circuit breakers are used. For high inrush current peaks like air conditioners, motors, halogen lamps, machine tools etc, G-series miniature circuit-breakers are used.
